Our robust security clearance procedures are also borne out in the work we do in cleaning custodial facilities. We regularly provide urgent priority response to clean and disinfect cells in prisons, police stations and custody areas following scenes of trauma or unsanitary activity by inmates. We work with several Police Authorities, Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service and their contract service providers to ensure the clean, safe and hygienic operation of their facilities.

We’re careful to protect the general public, as well as our staff, in every one of our cleaning assignments. From the correct signage and security cordons, to PPE and immunisations, we take every reasonable precaution. But we know that sometimes circumstances are beyond anyone’s control. All our staff are medically fit and fully immunised. We operate a no-blame culture when it comes to illness, so staff know that they shouldn’t report to work if they have any symptoms. Of course, this is particularly important in light of the current pandemic; our Covid-19 cleaning relies on everyone staying healthy. But it’s relevant for all of our hospital and clinical cleaning services, given the range of pathogens that can cause problems in healthcare settings. And even in areas such as void property cleaning, there may be contaminants or biohazardous materials, so we need to know that our staff are protected.
